Adopt-a-Family

Picture
RCMI has participated in the Adopt-a-Family program since Fall 2008 - and was matched to a family with Ricardo, a 6 year old child, who is in and out the hospital undergoing cancer treatment for leukemia at Stanford Hospital. Jacob's Heart Children Cancer Support asked the family to fill out a Gift Request Form, which RCMI used as a guideline for the many, many gifts provided during the holidays for Ricardo and the family - including clothes, cash, and of course a PlayStation!

We hope to continue providing for this family during their time of need. For more information or to see how you can help, contact member Richard Fontana.

From the project website, http://www.rotary4guatemala.org: "Our goal is to improve the lives of these amazing Guatemalan people, through clean water, health, sanitation & education. Lanquin is a remote location in the Alta Verapaz jungles of Guatemala. It is an economically depressed region consisting of mainly Mayan Indians. This project has grown from a single club's inspiration w/ three traveling members, to a multi-club and dual-district effort: "Our goal is to improve the lives of these amazing Guatemalan people, through clean water, health, sanitation & education.
